Effects of Brand Association on Small Scale Traders Essay Example for Free

Effects of Brand Association on Small Scale Traders Essay Effects of Brand Association on Small-Scale Traders Introduction            What are the effects of brand association on the performance of small-scale traders? Brand, in this case, refers to the version of a product made by one particular manufacturer. Levitt (1983) affirms that positive brand associations are developed if the product which the brand depicts is durable, marketable and desirable. He further asserts that the customers must be persuaded through advertisements, that the brand possesses the features and attributes that will satisfy their needs. This will lead to customers having a positive impression about the product. Positive brand association helps an organization to gain goodwill, and obstructs the competitor’s entry into the market.            Hypothetically speaking, one would say that effort coupled with utmost discipline on the side of the small-scale traders would assure them total success. It makes so much sense when looked at on the surface. Truth be told, brand association is inevitable if the small-scale traders are to thrive. Though an idea that I am suggesting for the big question throbbing on every small-scale trader’s mind, it has not yet been proved to be correct. The bottom line is, brand association has an influence on the performance of small scale traders. This is because it provides consumers with a point of differentiation of the various types of products provided by the small-scale traders. Brand association is an important dimension of brand equity because, like human association, it is both differentiating and enduring. Consumer perceptions of price, quality and value are considered pivotal determinants of shaping behaviors and product choice (Bishop, 2004). Methods of recruitment            When looking at the methods to be used in recruiting people who would carry out the research, it would be prudent to seek the work of professionals. This would be because professionals are adequately equipped and have been in the practice for a while, hence would render the very best. This way value for the finances spent on the whole process is sure. A matter of great importance that cannot be ignored would be how the recruitment process should go down. This is in order to take in, not just professionals, but the best in the market. There are a number of viable and proven recruitment methods that will most assuredly give the best results, in terms of professional personality. Firstly, I would develop a job description making crystal the requirements necessary for the work at hand. Sending local e-mails would not be an option to ensure extensive coverage of the advertisement (Managing Agency workers, 2013). The e-mails would inform potential staff of the opening an d ask them to share the information with family and friends. More to that, posting on a website with a link to employee testimonies would go a long way in communication in regard to the recruitment. Finally, since advertising via television would be a bit costly, radio would be the perfect media of communication. This is because it would especially get to the people at the grass roots Levitt (1983).            In conclusion, measure is key in the whole process and must be put in check. Measure refers to the quantitative necessity in the whole research process. The study measure to be used will totally be dependent on the market size occupied by the small-scale traders (Meenaghan, 1995). Using large, medium, and small market sizes, having 2 hectares as the size of a small market, approximately 3 employees would comfortably cover the area. The question of relativity cannot be ignored to clearly and acceptably bring home the key question here, which is, ‘what study measure?’ With all that in place, the question of the effects of brand association on performance of small-scale traders would have been adequately and appropriately responded to. Religious Extremism, Drug Addiction: Two of the greatest threats to civilization

Of the many problems facing society, few ring a tone as drug addiction and religious extremism. Not only are their numbers increasing, but so is the money in their pockets and with each new member comes more hunger and desire. But what is it they to need consume? What is it they need to perform? What drives these hordes of religious fanatics on their quest for heaven? How could something such as religion be turned into something so murderous? What hurls forward streams of addicted zombies on their thirst for a disease called drugs? In my opinion the two most important question are who are they and what the dangers they pose? Religious extremists can be described as the following: armed terrorists who believe that through their acts they are enforcing God’s will. Religious extremist have a sinister agenda, which is based on their fanatical interpretation of religion that they wish to fulfill. All around the world religious fundamentalists believe that their understanding of reli gion is correct and moral, which drives them to commit violent acts to enforce their will. But where in any holy book of any religion would you find it written that killing innocent people is the road to heaven? The last time I checked such actions came under the one way ticket to hell section. If you look at your average human beings, whether they are devout followers of their particular religion or not, you will find that they do not go around carrying AK 47s or M16s and shooting whoever strays from the â€Å"path of God†. Unfortunately groups such as the Taliban and AL Qaeda believe that their acts of terror are holy and justifiable, which is why they are a very serious threat to society. This menace that comes in the form of violence is persistent enemy that has no shame or feeling. This reminds me of how Templar Knights shouted â€Å"God wills it† before they murdered women and children during the Crusades and how a Taliban fighter would scream â€Å"God is greatâ € before he blows himself up. This blind belief that God blesses these inhumane actions makes religious fundamentalists a very determined and ruthless enemy of us all. Meanwhile, a drug addict just wants to get high and can offer no real explanation for this impulsive hunger other than it â€Å"feels good†.They simply take a drug then they want another and another and yet another. This endless frenzy rages on for apparent reason, which begs the question why did they become addicts in the first place? Drug addicts have money to spend and what better way to throw it away and have fun than on marijuana. Yes, fun this elusive feeling, which addicts believe can be only experienced in the highest quality through drugs. There are some who try to put a more humane spin on this point, as they claim that some addicts are just sick people who are suffering from the pressures of life.To those people I say that there are numerous ways to tackle depression and one of the most effective methods is to go see a doctor. Such people use drugs to lift the burden of the world off their shoulders and to ensure they fulfill their essential desire to feel good. Unlike the religious fundamentalists addicts pose a more social threat to civilization. All around the world communities have become centered on drugs, whether it is the selling of drugs or the consumption of it, and are thus fit uneasily with the outside world. Now do the rest of us wish for the global community to be the same?I think not, but the danger is very real. Furthermore, the origins of these two calamities are very different. Religious extremisms’ roots stem from the long standing problem of ignorance, as from the first day of every religion there were those who took a wrong turn somewhere. Their lack of understanding of the world fills such individuals with hatred, and when you combine hatred with ignorance you get religious fundamentalists. For example, the Klu Klux Klan, who out of contempt atta cked anyone who was not of the same skin colour or religion. On the other hand, drug addiction is a symptom of modern society, with all of its crazy ideas that are welcomed just because they are new. Unlike the religious fanatics whose ignorance has haunted us for the last thousand years, addicts are a new enrolment in the filth of the world club and their ideologies behind their actions differ from the fundamentalists. In our modern age there is a desire to senselessly carry out new activities with no regard of the consequences. All of the good things we have come up with were not enough. We had to have different types of addictions, such as loss of life trying to conquer mountains for no sensible purpose and countless other â€Å"new things†. As a result we have to contend with drug related violence all around the world, which is highlighted by the drug war in Mexico and the rise of armed gangs making profits off cocaine and heroin in South America. This goes to show the dang ers addicts pose to civilization at large. However, these two abominations of nature have one thing in common, which is that they are both addicted to something.Religious fanatics are hypnotized by their quest for heaven and can see nothing else. Not only are they blinded by their beliefs, they are hell bent to drag everyone down. They see no alternative for their obscene acts and strive to influence the way others live. While, their cousins the addicts feel that each time they take drugs they go to the Garden of Eden. They live on the fringes of society with their illusions of how we should follow in their path and â€Å"feel good†. Both of these groups minds’ are cloaked by an addiction that isolates them form the real world, as they live in their own fantasy dream land.In religious extremism and drug addiction we have two very serious threats to our society, which are ever increasing in magnitude. Religious fanatics have plagued us through the ages, while drug addic tion is the latest addition of the junk the modern age has brought us. If we do no step up our efforts in tackling these monstrosities we shall be engulfed by decay and chaos. The means that we would require to end these thorns in our modern civilization’s side, but the outcome should be the same. Total annihilation, as we cannot move forward while we are hindered by these public enemies.

Factors That Can Be Addressed As An Addiction Counselor

When assessing individuals for co-occurring disorders there are two cross-cutting issues that must be addressed as an addiction counselor. The first most important cross-cutting issue to identify is suicidality. It is considered more a behavior that is high risk, than a mental health disorder. Suicidality has shown through research that those who commit suicide have substance abuse or co-occurring disorders which can be diagnosed early. Most common among clients is serious depression (U.S. Public Health Service 1999), brought on by substance abuse or aggravated by suicidal ideations or intentions of suicide, (Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, 2005, Chapter8 p. 214). This is why it’s important that counselors screen clients, especially those with co-occurring disorders which can double the possibility of suicide. Counselors must have a good understanding of their agency’s protocol for those identified as suicidal. The agency should have a process for identifying, con firming, and some type of established referral, or treatment process for clients who may be suicidal. Counselors need to be knowledgeable of the following facts. A major factor risk in suicide, is alcohol abuse or drug abuse which would include people with co-occurring disorders and the general public. Suicide is identifiable with 25 to 50 percent of the population in alcohol abuse, and that 5 to 27 percent include suicidal deaths which are also related to alcohol abuse. Atomic Mass From Atomic Abundance Chemistry Problem

You may have noticed the atomic mass of an element isnt the same as the sum of the protons and neutrons of a single atom. This is because elements exist as multiple isotopes. While each atom of an element has the same number of protons, it can have a variable number of neutrons. The atomic mass on the periodic table is a weighted average of the atomic masses of atoms observed in all samples of that element. You can use the atomic abundance to calculate the atomic mass of any element sample if you know the percentage of each isotope. Atomic Abundance Example Chemistry Problem The element boron consists of two isotopes, 105B and 115B. Their masses, based on the carbon scale, are 10.01 and 11.01, respectively. The abundance of 105B is 20.0% and the abundance of 115B is 80.0%. What is the atomic mass of boron? Solution: The percentages of multiple isotopes must add up to 100%. Apply the following equation to the problem: atomic mass (atomic mass X1) Â · (% of X1)/100 (atomic mass X2) Â · (% of X2)/100 ...where X is an isotope of the element and % of X is the abundance of the isotope X. Substitute the values for boron in this equation: atomic mass of B (atomic mass of 105B Â · % of 105B/100) (atomic mass of 115B Â · % of 115B/100)atomic mass of B (10.01Â · 20.0/100) (11.01Â · 80.0/100)atomic mass of B 2.00 8.81atomic mass of B 10.81 Answer: The atomic mass of boron is 10.81. Note that this is the value listed in the periodic table for the atomic mass of boron. Although the atomic number of boron is 10, its atomic mass is nearer to 11 than to 10, reflecting the fact that the heavier isotope is more abundant than the lighter isotope. Why Arent Electrons Included? The number and mass of electrons is not included in an atomic mass calculation because the mass of the electron is infinitesimal compared to that of a proton or neutron. Basically, electrons dont significantly affect the mass of an atom.

What I Thought Was A Normal School Day - 1187 Words

On what I thought was a normal school day in November 2014, a strange silence seemed to overcome the hallways of Franklin High School in Reisterstown, Maryland, broken only by the occasional whispers of my classmates. That day at lunch, I finally discovered what the eeriness was about. Our classmate, Brandon Rivera, had committed suicide overnight. I didn’t know Brandon well, but I overheard from my peers that he had shown some signs of depression. Unfortunately, no one – neither his family, friends, nor teachers – had caught on, and therefore, no one was able to provide Brandon with the help that could have saved his life. Would Brandon still be here today if someone had noticed he was suffering from depression? Would he still be†¦show more content†¦The screening of teenagers in school may be beneficial because teachers are in a good position to pinpoint students who need help. Students of all ages spend upwards of six hours a day at school with their teachers, which, in many cases, is longer than a student may spend with his/her parents on any given weekday. This time in school is spent not only learning, but establishing relationships with their peers and teachers. Because teachers are able to get to know their students by spending so much time with them, it may be easier for a teacher to identify any changes in their personality or notice when a student is in distress. For these reasons, it is significantly more effective to connect teenagers to mental health services based out of their school and provide follow-up treatment services through school psychologists rather than having students and parents do so by themselves out in the community, where they are not guaranteed to go for follow-ups (â€Å"†¦Adolescent Screening†, 2011). According to the National Institute of Mental Health, â€Å"3.3% of 13 to 18 year olds have experienced a seriously debilitating depressive disorder† (â€Å"Depressionà ¢â‚¬ ). Screening in schools will allow mental illnesses to be caught early on, which can prevent any related issues, more than just suicide. Untreated mental illnesses can lead to school dropouts, increased drug use and abuse, and violence. If all students are required

Following are the research methods used: Research Philosophy: In this context of research study, various factors are analyzing to identify the significance of social media on B-corporations. The chosen research philosophy is positivism. It allows the researcher to reveal of hidden data relevant to the study (Burgess, Dudbridge Thompson, 2016). Due to limited time allowed for the study, other research philosophies such as realism, Interpretivism are avoided. Research Approach: According to Ott and Longnecker (2015), research approach is revealed with the needed format to conduct the data analysis of selected research topic. Meeker and Escobar (2014) divided the research approaches into three categories such as deductive, inductive and abductive. The selected research approach is deductive approach which determines validity of the assumptions. It is used for better understanding of the research topic. The researcher selected this approach for to conduct the study in proper manner. As in this paper, so such new concepts are proposed, therefore use of inductive and abductive are avoided (Mather Tso, 2016). Apart from all this, the main criteria behind selection of deductive approach are that it used of the past data to conduct the study. In this paper, past data from the Twitter posts with period from 1/1/2017 to 31/10/2017 are taken to identify the significance of social media in sustainability of the B Corporation. Research Design: According to Schabenberger and Gotway (2017), research design helps to develop research framework for collecting and analyzing the data. There are three categorizes of research design such as Explanatory, Exploratory and Descriptive. In this research study, exploratory research design is used to make sure that better understanding of the topic is provided. This research design allows the researcher to define the requirements to conduct the research. Data Collection Procedures: While conducting this research study, data are accounted as most key importance information required for this work. Sensitive and helpful information are provided to meet with the research purpose. According to Dang, Lanjouw and Serajuddin (2014), accurate along with detailed data are assisted to deliver of accurate data analysis while maintain the research standard. Data sources: In this particular research paper, secondary data sources are used. Secondary analyses are done to analyze of various case studies. The secondary data consists of research papers, journals along with peer reviewed journals to analyze the significance of the social media into the corporate social responsibilities. The data analysis consists of one method known as social constructivist theory (Miles, Huberman Saldana, 2014). The data are collected from 20 companies those are members of the B-corporations through Twitter social media posting. The researcher looked at each of the posts of the company based on five elements categories of the B-corporations such as Environment, Workers, Customers, Community and Governance. The collected data i.e. the Twitter posts are taken from period from 1/1/2017 to 31/10/2017. The researcher collected the posts and copied and pasted it into the excel document for further analyzing. It provides with good score of how the company is perfor ming online. Data analysis technique: In this particular research paper, Qualitative data analysis is used to identify the patterns in the data for providing various dimensions of the research study. The data are obtained from the past journals and Twitter posts to conduct the study. Selected data analysis technique is used to interpret the data collected from the Twitter posts of 20 different companies (Liamputtong, 2013). The researcher performs of qualitative data analysis techniques to get the secondary data. The application of selected data analysis helps to provide theoretical concepts on B Corporations Australia and New Zealand communicate their social and environmental responsibility through social media. Its practical field is followed into past Twitter posts. Apart from all this, the researcher collected the raw data into the secondary data sources to prove the validity of the developed research questions. Both reliability and validity are important to prove authentic and relevant of the collected data (Taylor, Bogdan DeVault, 2015). When the reliability degree of collected data is high, then it provides with positive results for the research study. In order to get of accurate results, both validity as well as reliability is maintained. Ethical considerations: The researcher needed to consider of different concerns to maintain the ethics while conducting of collection of data as well as analyzing the gathered data. The steps illustrate that the 20 companies have been following the different primary philosophy than the conventional corporation of stakeholders. The recognition of the 20 companies as any B Corp is the way publicly claiming the identity as the companies have been interested in both the success of the stakeholders and shareholders. Possessing the clear identification has been helping the firms to communicate the values to the customers. This has been especially advantageous as the 20 companies claim to be different from the norms of the industry ("Were a B Corp", 2017). A study has shown that how the simple non-confronting identities among those beneficially of the hedge funds have been influencing the capital allocation decision of the investors. These investors have been rewarding the nonconforming funds with higher investment after the success in short terms. Further, they have been penalized for the poor performances. Worker: The relationship with the workforce and the focusing on the entire work environment is focused on the messages. This also included the health, safety, flexibility, on the creation and managerial relationships (DesJardins McCall, 2014). Customer: The proven ability to generate professional and engaging relationships, attaining great details and ability to do tasks in the quick-paced scenarios are achieved ("Why Companies Are Becoming B Corporations", 2017). Environment: The posts have recognized to create the positive environmental effects. The companies have earned high environment scores. Community: The communities of the business leaders are found to come in various shapes and sizes representing the actual industrial cross-section (Einwiller Steilen, 2015). Governance: The B Corp on the assessments on the companies has mostly concerned about governance practices. Thus the legal necessities beyond the certification had vital implications for the other functions and board processes of corporate governance. Discussion on the results: The data analysis has been unique, but the process of an application shows the advantages of being B Corps certified. There have been various causes for the 20 companies to be approved. First of all, the analysis showed that the marketing was great. The becoming of B Corp of the 20 companies has proclaimed who they have been and what has been meaningful to the firm. From the social media posts, the people have aware of the integrity and health of the environment and humans ("Why Companies Are Becoming B Corporations", 2017). The open-minded partners, prospective employees, partners and customers have been looking at the 20 companies. This has been helping the familiar people to find the companies. Next, it is found that not only they were good at marketing but also respecting and sharing with others. This is good for the business and ecology of the economy that is socially responsible. Moreover, the posts suggested that it has been making them more turning to be much better. Since the B Corp certifications have been providing a various set of standards to the 20 companies for making them better in what they have been already setting out to do ("What are the basic pros and cons of a B Corp (Benefit Corporation)? - LawTrades", 2017). Further, the posts proved that they have been supporting and including them in a thriving moment. The companies have been showing to be deciding the best instead of the shareholders. The companies proved their dedication in valuing different interests of their stakeholders as much as that of the shareholders (Wilburn Wilburn, 2014). Thus the B Corporations has been showing to enable few protections against the pressure coming from the investors. The 20 companies have made the shareholders clear to the shareholders from getting going that the bottom line would always incorporate the profit, planet and people. Thus, there has been no time like the current one to provide the company with advantages of turning to be a B Corp and they have been not letting the future to pass by them. Some of the discussions on the findings that are found from the results are illustrated below. The pros of 20 companies Discussion Being B Corp has been a useful marketing tool The organizations have been possessing quick credibility as it came to the reason that they have been trying to support. Some of the agencies have claimed to be going green and supporting the scenario. This is done through various accreditations that might be or might not be a reality ("8 Pros and Cons of a B Corp - BrandonGaille.com", 2017). The status of the B Corp has been letting the customers know that the mission has been taken seriously. Thus the companies could back their claims with actual proofs. The companies must use the built-in perquisites of B Corp that are needed to be followed As there have been various shareholders included in the companies, the core query regarding the best course of action for supporting has been time-consuming and stressful (Wilburn Wilburn, 2015). The organizations have been delivering the various built-in mechanisms helping to dictate the path the agencies should undertake. Further, there have been multiple standards that are needed to be met. Though the random audits have been utilized for assuring every rule should be made abide by. The various ways to get involved People supporting the mission of the company have been winding up contributions that could be tax deductible. Multiple firms on the list have been qualified for the B Corp status due to the mission has been maintaining or create the excellent reason under their local communities ("Is Becoming a B Corp Right for Your Business?", 2017). As all the B Corps has been permitted to gather fundraising, charge the annual fees and the additional non-profit tasks inviting to the investors. Fellowship has been found on the B Corps sharing resources There have been various member resources available to the B Corp that is allowed to form. The status of the corporation has been permitted for the quick networking with the same owners of business. They have identical goals in the individual local communities (Worrell, 2016). This has fellowship has allowed sharing in the advantageous way mutually that the various other corporations have always been having. However, some of the things must be reminded of the companies. There have been various drawbacks found. The status of B Corp has been as active as they are maintained As the companies have been able to keep their status of B Corp status through bypassing the random audits. They have been transparent regarding their mission (Wilburn Wilburn, 2015). They have possessed the beneficial experience with the B Corp. In this case, the loosing of the certification has been argued, and the built-up network has been destined to be failed. The accountability though being a good thing is also the headache The decisions made by the B Corp have been hard. The audits have been allowing the third-part expertise to indulge and reveal that they have been right or wrong. In few cases, the 20 companies have been bound to go for the answers that anyone can judge to be inappropriate ("Becoming a B What Is The Difference Between a B Corporation and a Benefit Corporation?", 2017). One could be making what they have been thinking to be the most effective decision for the organization. The 20 companies should me making what they believe to be the most effective decision of their agency. The B Corps has not been the corporation status available everywhere Since these twenty companies have been new, this has not been the process to incorporate which is permitted at every state currently. This has not been identified at a national level. However, they require checking with the local state officials before filing the articles of the incorporation for seeing as that has been available to them (Hiller, 2013). Further, it is recommended that an S Corp must be needed to be formed then the transition to the B Corp status must be made available locally. There have been no benefits of corporate tax to the status Still, there has been no status of tax-exempt related to the B Corp, the 20 companies have been going to be liable to pay the same taxes like any other company. There have been no extra benefits of tax related to the status (Kim, Sung Kang, 2014). Thus the above advantages and disadvantages denote that it has been ultimately beneficial to the 20 companies qualifying to the structure. The process of qualifying has been complicated. However, it could also be worthwhile. Limitations and recommendations for the future research: Limitations of the research study: During development of the research study, the researcher comes across various limitations which provide impact on the structure of research study and data analysis. The limitation of this study is that primary data analysis is not conducted; only secondary data collection method is used. Due to limitation of time, the researcher has conducted a cross sectional study. This particular study has limited the researcher to conduct of detailed analysis along with evaluation of hidden details of the selected research topic. Due to limitation of the time, the researcher has conducted this study based on only one social media channel such as Twitter. Further, this study is based on secondary data sources only. The raw data are collected from the Twitter posts of 20 different companies considered under B corporations. It requires clarification on reliability in addition to validity ("B Informed: FAQ About "B Corps"", 2017). In order to obtain of data for the purpose of analysis, the researcher used of secondary data sources which are available from the open sources. This research study is also provided with limitation of budget which restricts the research scope. Under tight budget, the researcher limits the study to secondary data only and use of only one social media channel. Recommendations of the study: Following are the recommendations suggested to the organizations for their future perspective: Communication plan for stakeholders: Due to rate of changes in project scope and requirements, there should be a proper communication plan among the project team members and stakeholders. Within the communication of stakeholders, recognition of target audiences is most important. There should be team collaboration among them to support the research work. As communication is most important within the organization, therefore weekly meeting should be conducted. The organization can identify if the posts will help them in improving their business as per customers demands in addition to requirements. Improvement plan: The organization should require of improvement plan to develop the internal operations of their business. Free guides of practices should help to implement it. When the organization identifies their business issues, then improvement plan is being implemented for mitigating the issues. When the organization is able to improve their internal business operations, then the organization should able to gain future importance. From the past posts of Twitter on 20 organizations, all the organization can able to identify their faults, areas of issues which they will recover based on customers feedback. The organization can gain of profitability as well as fulfill the stakeholders objectives by the organizational improvement plan. Conclusion: It is concluded that entire research study is based on analyzing the posts from the Twitter of twenty different organizations. This paper evaluates the governance sector such as overall simplicity, responsibility, and ethics in addition to mission. The division of the worker demonstrated that the contribution of the organizations includes of benefits, compensation, safety, ownership and job flexibility. It is observed that the social media emerges the platform to promote of organizational practices along with interaction with the customers within the marketplace. Social media channels are used to gain of competitive advantage within the market. Corporate social responsibility provides better images into the market.
